MGBW E-News Week of 5.12.25: Farewell to Tom Lynch and Employee Q&A
Cheers to Controller, Tom Lynch!
After 11 years at MGBW, it’s come time for us to say farewell to Controller, Tom Lynch, as he ventures into retirement. Tom joined us in 2014, bringing with him an accounting degree from San Jose State University and 30 years of hands-on experience. He began his career at a CPA firm in San Jose, followed by a role at an agricultural merchant, a window manufacturer, IKEA, and MTS before coming on board with us!
Tom’s favorite part about working at MGBW is hands-down the people. Out of all of his previous employers, Tom noted that he enjoys the lack of political drama here and that everyone is heavily focused on their job responsibilities. Tom’s key to success is simply to, “Stay focused on what’s important. Don’t waste time on things that won’t help the customer.”
When asked what he’s looking forward to most in retirement, he mentioned less traffic and new places to visit. Tom is also planning on moving to Wyoming to enjoy his retirement which sounds like a good plan to us!
CFO Laura Machado shared this kind sentiment when asked about Tom: “He has been a great leader to our accounting staff. We appreciate his hard work and dedication with all of the many changes in the growth of the company over his tenure. He has put procedures in place that will carry forward for many years and make the accounting team much more productive.” Although he will be missed, we couldn’t be happier for him. Best of luck in all your future endeavors, Tom!
