Prop Scan and Dynamic Balancing

We offer the latest PropScan technology to tune, dynamically balance, accurately measure and evaluate the conditions of your props and optimize your propellers (up to 62” diameter). As the only prop shop in San Diego to offer dynamic balancing, we tune and test for ISO Class S and Class I tolerances to eliminate nearly all prop-induced issues. The enhanced configurations with perfected tuning, hydrodynamic shape and balance will be unique to your boat for ultimate performance and long-term cost savings and fuel efficiency.

Crane and Rigging Services

USCG, ABS, Lloyds, All Class Survey and Inspections

Our experienced crew are knowledgable with the maritime classification societies such as Lloyds (LR), Bureau Veritas (BV), American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and work closely with your team to ensure a smooth process of certification, inspection and surveys. We understand time is of the essence and are always ready to put every hand we have on deck to fit you in and get you back out in the water for smooth sailing.

Structural and Pipe

Held to the highest standards, our ABS- and NAVSEA-certified welders will improve the look and performance of your vessel. We specialize in hull and stern extensions, bow reshaping, extensive rebuilds to piping repair, maintenance and custom fabrication. Capable of servicing high- and low-pressure systems, we tailor our materials and proven techniques for carbon steel pipes (TIG/ELECTRODE), stainless steel pipes (TIG), carbon steel and stainless-steel pipes (TIG/MIG-MAG), duplex pipes (TIG), copper nickel CuNi10 pipes (TIG) and aluminum pipes (TIG). Our knowledgeable professionals will walk you through every step to ensure the job completed is up to your expectations and the needs of your vessel while being ISO 14001 compliant.

With one of the largest hauling capacities on the West Coast and an industry-leading workforce, we’ve mastered the ropes with modern efficiency and environmental responsibility for a first-class experience. With 100, 300 and 665-ton travel lifts and a team of 195 + craftsmen cross-trained in high-speed aluminum and steel vessels, Marine Group Boat Works has the capacity to haul and service vessels up to 220 feet (67m) in length and 53 feet (16m) in beam and working dockside on vessels up to 400ft (121m) in length.
