HR Update Regarding Settlement Check
Some of you may have recently received an unexpected check in the mail. If this applies to you, it relates to the settlement of a lawsuit brought under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and we wanted to explain it so it doesn’t come as a surprise.
The company chose to resolve this matter through a settlement to avoid the cost and distraction of prolonged litigation. The settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing, and the company continues to believe it has complied with the law. In reaching the settlement, we worked to ensure that a meaningful share of the funds went directly to our current and former employees, and not the lawyers.
The payment is yours to keep, and no action is needed on your part.
