Marine Group is entering a new chapter of tremendous growth—one that requires the entire team to push beyond our comfort zone and what made us successful in the past.  To achieve this growth for our future, we are building a stronger foundation that will provide you and your teams with structure, leadership and the investment needed to allow all of you to perform at your highest level.

Having a team on the ground that I can trust to run the operations successfully and efficiently will also give me the space to scale our business and pursue our vision for global expansion and acquisitions. With thoughtful planning and mentorship of key members, I’m pleased to introduce the leadership team to you:

I’ve worked closely with this team to build out a resilient structure – one that holds them and employees accountable for the company’s success and failures.  By creating clearer expectations, improving access to the right tools, and strengthening communication, we are working toward a goal to enable you to work smarter, evolve from your mistakes and be as efficient as you can be.  We’ve also implemented systems to track individual performance, team performance and overall company performance.  Our success is your success.

Now, for changes that will impact your departments.

San Diego Shipyard Operations:

Eric will oversee operations for the shipyard, including New Construction, Repair, MSR and Global Services operations; QA; and Production.  He’ll be less involved in the day-to-day production and focused more on programming, operational efficacy and job performance, which means he’ll rely heavily on the following key managers:

• Alan Young who has been promoted to Sr. Project Manager to manage all PMs.
• Tommy Oman who has been promoted to Production Manager to manage all trade supervisors, Safety (EHS), Facilities and Loss Prevention.
• Reporting to Tommy will be EHS who is newly managed by Enrique Mondaca so that Colin Keeney can move into a Project Manager role, and Riley Copley who has been promoted to manage Facilities and Loss Prevention.
• Karen Ramos who manages the Contracts Department

Sales & Business Development

As head of Sales, Tim will have a more robust team under him, and he will report to me directly. He’ll be hiring for two positions – MSR/Federal business development and Superyacht/Commercial estimator.  Tim will be responsible for meeting sales goals and objectives including driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships and capitalizing on sales opportunities across commercial government and private vessel sectors.

We are choosing to double down because of the faith I have in us. We are making these changes, strengthening our foundation and creating the tools, accountability and providing support needed to help everyone succeed.

But the truth is, our future will not be achieved without you. Your dedication, your ideas and your commitment are what will take us there.

These are exciting times for Marine Group, and together we have the opportunity to build something stronger, more resilient and more successful than ever before.
