MGBW E-News 10.20.25: Trick or Tortas, Pumpkin Carving Contest, 10-Year Anniversaries + More!

We love the spooky Halloween season at MGBW and are hosting another festive pumpkin carving contest during our Halloween Yard Lunch on Friday, October 31! Join us in honoring the 10-year anniversaries of Joshua Marin, Louden Williamson, and J. Refugio Ruiz Uribe with tortas from Frutas 100% Natural and Halloween candy favorites! *Scroll down for office employee costume policy*

Each MGBW team can have up to 6 people and enter 1 pumpkin for a chance to win a Halloween gift basket with a harbor cruise, wine, gift cards & more!
Each vessel crew can enter 1 pumpkin for a chance to win a free crew night out!

Carved pumpkins are due at the front desk by 7:30am on Friday, Oct. 31.

Halloween Costume Policy

Office employees may wear office-appropriate costumes on Halloween Day (Friday, Oct. 31). We look forward to celebrating together and wish to remind you costumes should follow these parameters: nothing offensive, revealing, or graphic. For safety reasons, costumes are open to office staff only. If you have questions regarding this policy, please reach out to delia@marinegroupbw.com for clarification. Let the festivities begin!

401K Updates: New Provider – Principal Financial Services

Eligible employees were mailed a new 401K registration packet. If you didn’t register prior to the blackout period, an investment plan will be chosen for you based on your estimated retiring age. Not to worry, you can make changes after the blackout period. Just be sure to register following the instructions in your packet.

Other helpful info:

Balances on ADP reflect contributions through Oct. 10.
401K deductions beginning Oct. 17th will be visible on Principal Financial Services.
401K Blackout Period is Oct. 20-Nov. 23, meaning employees will not have access to their accounts during the transition to our new provider.
You can make changes to your investments once the 401K blackout period is over.
Employees will have a balance on ADP AND Principle Financial Services until the end of the blackout period.
