People at MGBW Making Waves!

MGBW is pleased to announce the promotion of QA Manager Kim Powell to Government Operations Program Manager.  In addition to managing a stellar QA program and the Navy Small Boat Repair contract, Kim will oversee:

  1. Larry Dicker who has also been promoted within QA and adding Production Assistant to his title
  2. Violeta Sifuentes Contract Administration
  3. Jesus de Luna Project Management

Congratulations Kim and the Gov Ops team.  We are excited to see you continue to impress the Navy with our professionalism, expertise, responsiveness and resources.

Special kudos to Production Manager Matt Schmoke who rose to the occasion as interim Gov Ops Program Manager while we searched for a replacement for Hugh Vanderspek who retired.  As the natural leader he is, MGBW will no longer separate labor between government, repair or new construction under Schmoke’s management.  As one united production team, we’re confident we’ll be able to better serve our customers more efficiently and with the highest quality output.

In other personnel news, it’s with mixed emotions that New Construction Program and Engineering Manager Paul Kotzebue and Project Manager Skip Lahti announced their retirement. They have been integral members of our team, committed to exceeding the expectations of both MGBW and our Customers. While we’ll soon begin the search for Skip’s replacement, we’ve secured a New Construction Program Manager, and it’s someone you may remember…..

MGBW is pleased to welcome back Andrew (Andy) Nottberg!  Andy worked at MGBW as a project and program manager several years ago.  He is a merchant marine and has worked at Military Sealift Command and comes to us more recently working in Hawaii on a vessel.  On Oct. 1, he’ll begin training with Paul to take over managing the Jordan Patrol Boat and Range Support Vessel programs.
